Where our stock actually comes from, and why we draw a hard line between authorized supply and imported supply.
Everything we sell arrives one of two ways, and we label which on every brand and every product page. The distinction matters to you, and it matters enormously to the makers.
We hold an account with the manufacturer, buy at dealer terms, and are listed by them as a dealer. Stock sits in our warehouse. Warranty claims go through us to the maker on an established channel. Supply is continuous and prices are stable.
These brands carry an Authorized badge on the site. We apply that badge only where the relationship genuinely exists.
For makers we do not yet hold an account with, we source through import channels: regional distributors, export agents, and in some cases the maker's own domestic wholesale route. The product is genuine and traceable. What is different is that there is a lead time rather than shelf stock, and pricing can move with exchange rates and freight.
These are labelled Special order. We do not describe ourselves as an authorized dealer for them, because we are not.
Why we are strict about this. Claiming an authorisation you do not hold is trademark misuse, and in a specialist category it takes one message between two reps to check. It is the fastest way to lose a channel permanently — including channels you had not applied for yet. The badge is worth something precisely because we do not put it where it does not belong.
It is rarely about quality and almost never about demand. The makers in our long tail are small, often family-held, and focused on domestic markets where they are already the standard. Setting up North American distribution is a large amount of work for a company of thirty people, so it does not happen.
The result is a category where professionals know exactly which tool they want and cannot buy it — and end up ordering one at a time from overseas at unpredictable cost with no warranty path. That gap is the business.
Our intention is to convert import relationships into direct dealer accounts over time. That is a slow process: makers assess a prospective dealer on how they price, how they present the product, whether they hold minimum advertised pricing, and whether they can support the end customer. It is not a quick application.
We would rather build that credibility properly than claim it early. As accounts are granted, the badges on the brands page change — and nothing else about how we describe the product does.
If you need a part from a maker in our range that we have not listed, or from a maker we do not list at all, ask. We will tell you honestly whether we can get it, what it costs and how long it takes — or that we cannot.
