What to know
Loading, not wearing, is what usually ends an abrasive disc. Conventional paper has extraction holes covering maybe five percent of the face, so dust packs the grit between the holes. Net-backed abrasive is open across its whole surface, so extraction pulls dust out everywhere and the disc keeps cutting several times longer. On finish work that difference shows up directly in the surface.
