How we work

Exel Prod Distribution Inc. is a small distribution business in Mississauga. We import precision hand tools, hold stock, and support the people who use them. That is the whole company — there is no second product line and no plan for one.

Everyone here handles stock and everyone talks to customers. If you would rather never touch a pallet, this will not suit you. If the idea of knowing a category properly appeals more than knowing a hundred categories badly, it might.

What we look for

  • Actual tool knowledge, or genuine appetite for it. You do not need to arrive knowing the difference between a JIS and a Phillips tip, but you need to want to.
  • Willingness to say "I don't know, let me find out." Confidently wrong advice about a specification costs a customer money and costs us a relationship.
  • Care about accuracy. A wrong figure in a specification table is a real problem, not a typo.
  • Comfort with being told when something is wrong, and with saying so yourself.

Please do not send a generic covering letter. Tell us about a tool you have opinions about instead — it tells us far more.

How we hire

  1. A short call, twenty minutes, to work out whether it is worth either of us continuing.
  2. A longer conversation, in person where possible, including time in the warehouse.
  3. A practical exercise relevant to the role. We pay for your time on anything over an hour.
  4. A decision within a week, with a reason either way.
