Bevel Edge Bench Chisel Set, 6 Piece, 6–26 mm

This is the set most often recommended to someone moving up from a hardware-store chisel. Cr-Mn steel hardened to around 59 HRC, ground bevels, and hornbeam handles with a steel ferrule at both ends so they take a mallet.

They arrive ground but not sharpened, and they need their backs flattened before first use — the first 20 mm or so, on a coarse stone, until it polishes uniformly. That job takes about twenty minutes per chisel and it is the whole difference between a chisel that pares and one that skids.

The bevels are ground at 25°, which suits general bench work. For mortising or knotty stock, add a 30° secondary micro-bevel and the edge will last considerably longer.

What is covered

Covered against defects in material and manufacture. Edge chipping from use on material harder than the tool is intended for, and damage from levering, are not covered.

Limitations

Warranty covers defects in material and manufacture only. It does not cover normal wear, consumable items, corrosion, or damage caused by using a tool outside its stated capacity or for a purpose it is not designed for. Where a product page states a specific exclusion, that exclusion applies.

Making a claim

Contact us at support@exelprod.com or (000) 000-0000 with your order number and a photograph of the fault. We handle the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf; you do not deal with them directly.

Dispatch

In-stock items are dispatched within 1–2 business days of order. Orders placed before 14:00 ET on a business day are picked the same day.

Carriers

We ship with Canada Post, UPS, Purolator. Delivery is free on orders over $149.00; below that a flat rate of $14.95 applies. Tracking is emailed when the label is created.

Returns

Unused items in original packaging may be returned within 30 days. Sharpening stones that have been wetted, abrasives that have been opened, and saw blades removed from their sleeve cannot be returned for hygiene and condition reasons unless faulty.
